culver & venice
culver & venice is the commercial fiction division of von reuth.
Here at culver & venice, we live for books that are great, entertaining fiction, books that we just can’t stop talking about to everyone. We’re passionate about great fiction, and look forward to the exciting new voices waiting to be heard.
Before you start…
• Is your book really commercial fiction (everything from Memoirs of a Geisha and The Other Hand to The Time Traveler’s Wife and Bridget Jone’s Diary), or is it more genre fiction? If the latter, why do you feel it’s commercial fiction? (Hint: put that in your introductory letter, we’re genuinely curious to know).
• Have you given your manuscript to others to read? By this, we mean people you trust to give you very honest feedback about plot, structure, characters, etc.? If no, we strongly suggest you do that first before sending us your manuscript. Second readings are always a great way to scale where you actually are with your book.
Writing is both an art and a craft. We know that, and we really appreciate the great effort you put into writing a book from start to finish. Please don’t be disheartened if we cannot accept your manuscript. Keep on, and don’t give up!
