Also known as Summer Solstice.
Date: June 21, 2015
Midsummer, the beginning of summer, that time when the sun reaches its highest point north of the equator.
We at culver & venice thought it would be a great opportunity to meet new people, and hear from you bloggers, writers, and creatives out there. So, here’s what we have in mind (drum roll please):
Short Summer shorts
What are they?
They’re short stories of maximum 2500 words about a particular topic, in this case, Midsummer.
We thought compiling 6 of the best short summer shorts sent to us would be a great way to start culver & venice web stories.
What is culver & venice web stories?
It’s where we give writers a space to present themselves, to meet new people, and especially a new audience. It is a blog space, so no money is involved, though you will get exposure, which is always a good thing.
How does it work?
• You pitch your Midsummer short story (max. 2500 words) by 07 June 2015.
• We pick the 6 we love best, and publish them on 21 June 2015 (Midsummer) on culver & venice web stories.
• We and everyone on our networks get great stories to read, you get exposure, everybody wins!
Who do I submit to?
Please send your manuscript (Times New Roman, 12 Font, 1,5 spacing, usual margins) to:
vonreuthpublishing [at] gmail [dot] com
Please remember to put ‘culver and venice, shorts’ into the subject of your submission.
Example: culver and venice, shorts: [manuscript title], [author’s name]
